STUDENT SUPPORT

 

CLASSROOM SUPPORT

is provided by our group of SSOs to either an individual or group of students which enhances the learning opportunities within classes, or for system identified students who receive additional support.

 

Literacy Support

occurs to further support students identified to improve their literacy skills, with the focus of Reading, Writing, Phonics and Spelling. Additional small group work to support Literacy Learning is provided to further develop basic phonics and to progress Literacy skills with identified students; this is in addition to the Literacy learning children receive in classrooms.

 

Numeracy Support

occurs for students in small groups of R-2 and 3-6 students. This opportunity encourages and supports students to show and explain their mathematical thinking; all the time looking for flexibility, creativity, accuracy, efficiency, understanding and the use of vocabulary.
